2. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Account Registration: First name, last name, username, email address, date of birth, and password
- Identity Verification (KYC): Government-issued ID and, when legally required, tax identification information. Verification may be required before SV Coin redemption or before completing and activating a paid SV League team position
- Profile Information: Display name, profile preferences, and ClubGG username (optional)
- Payment Information: Cryptocurrency wallet addresses used for transactions on our platform. We do not collect or store credit card numbers — card payments are processed securely by Stripe, our third-party payment processor
- Communications: Any messages or inquiries you send to us
Information Collected Automatically
- Session Data: Authentication tokens stored in cookies to keep you logged in
- Server Logs: IP address, browser type, device type, and timestamps when you access the platform
- Platform Activity: Competition entries, picks, P2P market orders, transactions, SV Coin balances, and SV League applications, player-pool registrations, team interests, roster status, and offer or escrow status
Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not use third-party analytics or tracking services (no Google Analytics, no ad trackers)
- We do not collect or store credit or debit card numbers
- We do not track your activity outside of the Sportsvestment platform
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account
- Process transactions including sponsorship purchases, crypto payments, and SV Coin transfers
- Operate competitions, leaderboards, P2P markets, and SV League teams and player recruitment
- Verify your identity for SV Coin redemptions and before completing or activating a paid SV League team position
- Send transactional emails (purchase confirmations, transfer notifications, password resets)
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and Terms of Service violations
- Maintain platform security and integrity
- Comply with legal obligations
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:
- Payment Processors: Stripe processes card payments on our behalf. Stripe's privacy policy governs their handling of your payment data. Cryptocurrency transactions are processed on public blockchain networks
- Email Service: We use Resend to deliver transactional emails. They process your email address solely to deliver messages on our behalf
- Public Platform Activity: Your username, display name, competition picks (after game lock), leaderboard rankings, and P2P market activity are visible to other users as part of the platform experience. If you participate in an SV League, your username, team membership, team role, player-pool availability, and Team License Ownership percentage may also be visible. Identity documents, internal account identifiers, payment references, wallet records, and private application details are not intended for public display
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Sportsvestment, our users, or the public
5. Cookies & Session Management
We use essential cookies only — specifically, a session authentication cookie that keeps you logged in. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking cookies, or third-party cookies.
If you use the Sportsvestment PWA (Progressive Web App) on your device, session data is stored locally to maintain your login state.
6. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on secure servers in the United States. We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information, including:
- Encrypted passwords (bcrypt hashing)
- HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
- Encrypted authentication tokens (JWT)
- Access controls limiting who can access user data
No system is 100% secure. While we take reasonable precautions, we cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.
7. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Specifically:
- Account Data: Retained until you request account deletion
- Transaction Records: Retained for a minimum of 7 years for tax and compliance purposes
- KYC Documents: Retained as required by applicable law
- SV League Records: Active applications, player-pool listings, offers, team agreements, and payment or escrow records are retained while needed to operate the League, resolve disputes, maintain transaction records, and meet legal obligations. Public player-pool listings can be withdrawn without deleting required transaction or audit records
- Server Logs: Retained for up to 90 days
8. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate information
- Deletion: Request deletion of your account and personal data, subject to legal retention requirements
- Portability: Request your data in a portable format

9. Children's Privacy
Sportsvestment is not intended for anyone under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we discover that we have collected information from a person under 18, we will delete it promptly.
